Hironobu Nishiori, MD

Dr. Hironobu Nishiori joined the Ishibashi Lab at Boston University in 2025 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. He graduated from Chiba University School of Medicine in 2017 and worked in Japan as a cardiovascular surgeon, with a strong clinical focus on the surgical care of patients with cardiovascular disease.

His current research centers on the developmental impact of cardiopulmonary bypass in pediatric patients. Through the translational research, he aims to bridge clinically relevant questions in pediatric cardiac surgery with experimental models that can improve our understanding of postoperative cardiac and developmental outcomes.

Drawing on his background as a cardiovascular surgeon, Dr. Nishiori brings a clinically grounded perspective to experimental research and is especially interested in developing strategies that improve both the safety and long-term outcomes of pediatric cardiac care.
