Katie Ney

Katie Ney is a Master’s student in Anatomy & Neurobiology at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (expected May 2027). She earned her B.A. in Biology with a concentration in the Human Body from Bates College in 2025. As an undergraduate, Katie conducted laboratory-based research in neuroscience and molecular biology exploring genetic mechanisms that influence neural development and function.

Katie joined the Ishibashi Lab in 2026 to complete her Master’s thesis research. In the lab, she is advancing her skills in neuroscience research and experimental techniques while studying mechanisms that affect the developing brain. Her research interests include neurodevelopment, genetics, and mechanisms of neural injury. She plans to pursue medical school and hopes to integrate neuroscience research with a future career in medicine.
