Riyan Abdisalam recently completed her first year at Hamline University and transferred in with credits to be an incoming Junior. She is still exploring where her research interests align within neuroscience. So far, she has been especially interested in anything related to the brain and hopes to continue learning through research and clinical experiences. On campus, she is involved in student organizations and works to support underrepresented communities. Her experiences volunteering with the elderly have continued to grow her passion for neuroscience and patient care. Outside of academics, she enjoys spending time with her twin sister and trying new things. In the future, she hopes to attend medical school, specialize in neurology, and advocate for greater representation and equity in healthcare.
